I Had 100 Tools I Couldn’t Promote. So I Built Aha Studio.

Build in Public · #21

I build new tools most weekends, sometimes several a day, and I had about 100 of them I’d never released because I couldn’t market them all. Aha Studio is how I fixed that, for me and for the people who buy my tools. Here’s why I built it, what an AI worker actually is, and why it’s changed my business in a way that has nothing to do with sales so far.

I’ve got about 100 tools that have never been released.

That number has been my biggest problem.

Anyone in my WhatsApp group knows I build every single weekend. Some days I’m doing several new tools in a day. When you’ve been a product creator for as long as I have, it becomes second nature, and with AI you can more or less speak things into existence, then spend your time tweaking and polishing.

But in a business sense, it’s held me back for years. I couldn’t possibly go and promote all of those tools.

So they sat there.

Two bottlenecks, one on each side

Software creates a two-sided bottleneck.

The first bottleneck was mine: too many products, not enough marketing time.

The second was my customers’. I got tired of support tickets from people who just didn’t understand how to do something with the software. I might have already covered it in a guide. They were still getting stuck.

And I get it. I don’t watch tutorial videos either. I figure I’ll work it out as I go. I’m not the greatest at sitting down and recording tutorial videos either, so it works both ways.

Software was the bottleneck. For them and for me.

The landing page that changed my mind

Traditional Software vs. AI Worker

Then I kept seeing an ad on YouTube. One day I clicked it.

The landing page asked for my website. I typed it in, and I was kind of like, wow. A team of AI agents started working right there on the page, with no account and nothing to learn.

I thought: this is the way we should be doing products.

Minimal input, like a website, for one specific strategy, like neighborhood pages or a content hub. Then a series of AI agents does all the work.

That’s Aha Studio. It’s taken me months to build.

What an AI worker actually is

I call them AI workers. Each one does one specific marketing job from start to finish.

Inside each worker, a series of AI agents hand off to each other, each doing one task: research, then the plan, then the writing and building, then the checks, then publishing.

Connected AI workflows and playbooks.

We started with workflows I already knew inside out, from my own tools. I could tell Claude: go and look at how Neighborhood Pages works, and tell me which AI agents we need so they hand off to each other, each doing one task. That gave us a solid starting point.

Every worker runs on its own subdomain and its own server, so they never trip over each other.

Then there are Playbooks: several workers chained together, handing off to each other, to run a whole strategy from start to finish. If you’re new to marketing, the assistant asks what you want your first campaign to be (a niche site, an affiliate site, a directory) and guides you to the right playbook.

Six workers at launch. Eighteen a few days later.

From 6 AI units to 18.

We launched on Wednesday 14 October with six AI workers. By the following Monday there were 18.

It won’t always be that fast. But I’ve got about 40 more already mapped out, and I mean actually mapped out: the workflows are designed, it’s just a matter of building them.

Here’s the thing…

Three months from now I might have 100 workflows, and maybe only five of them will have come from my existing tools. The tools you already know will be in the minority.

And they go in as soon as they’re ready. I’m not holding anything back until the first of the month. We need these workers ourselves, so the moment one works, it goes in.

It works the other way too. AI moves fast. If a worker becomes irrelevant, or doesn’t deliver the outcome we expected, I’ll take it out, adjust it or build a new version.

Why it changed my business, and it’s nothing to do with sales

More, without launching additional items.

This is the part that matters most to me.

I can keep being as prolific as I want. Building new tools is what I love doing. I don’t want to stop, and I can’t help it anyway.

But now every new tool becomes a new AI worker inside one product. My marketing comes down to Aha Studio, plus JVswaps, my webinar promotion platform. I’m not doing WarriorPlus or JVZoo launches any more, and they were really time consuming.

So for the first time, my creative side and my business side want the same thing. The more I build, the more valuable the one product I’m marketing becomes.

Last year we ran a course called Unshackled. This is like Unshackled on steroids. It feels like being free.

Where it’s heading

It’s in my interest to make Aha Studio so valuable for people’s marketing that they don’t want to leave.

That means a lot more workers, more Playbooks that chain them together, and the freedom to steer and edit what the workers build in plain conversation, the same way you’d talk to ChatGPT.

And it means I get to share demo videos on social media of the workers doing real jobs, instead of trying to explain software.

My Take: I was born to do this. Building products is so much fun for me, and this is the best product I’ve ever built for the way I work. Internet marketing should be fun. If you enjoy what you do, it doesn’t feel like work. It feels like a project, a hobby, and you’re making money at the same time. For years my biggest problem was that I built faster than I could market. Aha Studio turns that problem into the whole point: every tool I build now makes one product better, for me and for everyone using it. If you’ve got a pile of half-finished projects you never promoted, look for the one container they could all live in.
