QuickTip · 4 minute read
Your AI does not know your business. Every chat starts from zero, so you re-explain yourself, and it still guesses. Here is how to give it a training manual instead, in about twenty minutes, for nothing.

What OKF is, without the jargon
OKF stands for Open Knowledge Format. It is a way of writing down what you know so an AI can read it properly, rather than you pasting three paragraphs of context into a chat window every time.
Think of hiring a brilliant assistant. Day one they are sharp, but they have no idea what you sell, who buys it, or which of your old documents are still true. They need a training manual. That is all OKF is, and the format itself is just plain markdown files in a folder.

The catch is that hand-building those files is genuinely tedious, which is why almost every article about OKF ends with “this is for developers”. That is the gap. OKF Architect does the tedious part for you, and I have made it free.

The part most people miss
Capturing pages is the easy half. The half that matters is what happens on the second capture.
Most tools dump each page into its own file. Do that twenty times and you have a filing cabinet full of overlapping documents, which is exactly the mess you were trying to escape. When you hand that to an AI it has to work out which version is current, and it will get it wrong.

OKF Architect reads what you already have first. If the new page repeats something, it folds it in. If it contradicts something, it flags it so you can decide. If it relates to something, it cross-links it. So the bundle gets sharper as it grows rather than heavier, and the AI reading it is not choosing between four stale copies.

Then let the AI maintain it
Once the folder exists, keeping it current is not your job any more. Capture a new article and the merge does the updating. Every few weeks, point your AI at the folder and ask it plainly: what in here has gone out of date, what contradicts itself, and what is missing? It will tell you, because for once it can actually read your knowledge instead of guessing at it.

That is the whole loop. Capture, merge, ask. The folder is yours, it is plain markdown, and it works with anything.
