The Sleeper Site Playbook

You've got a domain sitting in a drawer doing nothing. Let's wake it up and put it to work.

A bit of easy SEO. A trickle of traffic. And a marketplace that pays you to publish on your own site. We build it together, live, on one of my own dusty domains.

Lock #1 · Authority
DR 40+
Minimum domain rating to get listed.
Lock #2 · Traffic
100/mo
Around 100 visitors a month. That's it.
The prize
Get paid
Brands pay to publish on your site.

Here's the play, in plain English.

There's a marketplace where brands pay to get a blog post (with their link in it) published on someone else's website. Real posts, on real sites, that actually get placed and monitored.

To list your site, you only have to clear two bars: a domain rating of 40 or more, and roughly 100 visitors a month. Clear them, and your site becomes a little shelf that advertisers can rent. I've got a handful of domains I'd half-forgotten I owned. One of them, my old anthonyhayes.me, is already sitting at DR 59. So I'm going to test this out loud, and you get to watch.

The number that made me look twice.

This is the marketplace's own calculator for a DR 59 site. I'm showing it exactly as they show it, disclaimer and all.

Domain rating
59 / anthonyhayes.me
their number, not a promise ↘
Advertised ceiling
$63,720
// per year, "at this pace" · $5,310 / mo

Read this bit. That's the platform's maximum potential for a DR 59 site, not a prediction and definitely not typical. It depends entirely on how many advertisers want a placement that month. Could be busy. Could be zero. No income is promised here by them or by me. That uncertainty is the whole reason we're testing it live instead of taking a screenshot's word for it.

Two bars to clear. So we teach exactly those two.

The whole game comes down to authority and a pulse of traffic. Everything in these two sessions points at getting a sleepy little site over both bars, then wiring it up to earn.

LOCK 01

DR 40 or more

Domain rating is a site's authority score. We take a dormant domain (or a fresh one) up past 40 the simple, non-exhausting way.

LOCK 02

~100 visitors a month

Not a million. A hundred. A trickle of the right traffic is enough to qualify, and we'll set it up so it keeps ticking over.

Two sessions. We build, you copy along.

Session 01

Wake it up & build the DR

// clear Lock #1
  • Pick the right sleeper domain (or grab a fresh one that already has legs)
  • The simple way to push a site past DR 40, no month-long link grind
  • What actually moves domain rating in 2026, and what's a waste of time
  • Get the site into shape so it looks worth publishing on
Session 02

Get the traffic & wire it to earn

// clear Lock #2, then monetise
  • The fastest honest routes to ~100 visitors a month
  • List on the marketplace and set your placements up properly
  • Use AI to bolt on lead capture, so the traffic isn't wasted
  • Add a retargeting pixel and a passive-earning layer to the same little site

Three questions you're already asking.

Is it ethical?
Nah.

Not really. It's a bit grey-hat and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. I'm testing it on a domain I'm not precious about.

Is it fun?
Yeah.

Genuinely. This is the mischievous, playful corner of internet marketing that got me into it in the first place.

Will it make money?
Depends.

On the platform, on demand, and on you actually doing it. No promises. We find out together, in real time.

Grey hat isn't new to me, and I'll be straight with the group the whole way. I may pull the site down at any point and swap another one in, because I'm not redirecting it and I'm building anthonyhayes.io fresh anyway. But for these two sessions it's the perfect guinea pig. The point isn't the one domain. The point is proving you can do this too.

Making money online can be simple. And a bit of fun.

Not everyone wants to build software or grind heavy SEO for months. This is the opposite of overwhelm. A little easy SEO, a little traffic, and AI quietly handling the boring parts. You walk away with:

  • A repeatable way to take any domain past DR 40
  • A site that qualifies for the marketplace and can earn passively
  • Lead capture and a retargeting pixel wired onto the same site
  • Proof that this stuff doesn't have to be hard or joyless

This is for you if…

  • You've got a spare domain (or three) gathering dust
  • Heavy SEO and tool-building aren't your thing
  • You've felt buried by "the 47-step funnel" version of marketing
  • You like the idea of a small site quietly paying its own way
  • A bit of grey-hat mischief makes you grin, not clutch pearls

Free. Live. Two sessions.
