In Aha Studio, an AI worker does one marketing job. A Playbook chains several workers together to run a whole strategy from start to finish. Here’s the difference, with the directory and SaaS launch playbooks as examples, how you pick or build your own, and where you still step in.

**A worker does some tasks. A strategy is called a Playbook.**

Claude gave it the name. I didn’t. But it stuck, because it’s exactly what it is.

When you see Aha Studio for the first time, it’s easy to look at the list of workers and think “a set of tools”. The Playbooks are where it becomes something else.

## What an AI worker does

An AI worker is one essential marketing task, automated and done for you by AI agents.

One worker builds a directory. Another builds a calculator site. Another does keyword research, or local pages, or an ad campaign. Each one takes a short brief and does its whole job, from the research to something you can publish.

The workers fall into a few groups:

- **Research,** because you can’t do marketing without it.

- **Building sites and pages.**

- **Content,** for SEO and local SEO.

- **Traffic,** which we’ve started to build.

- **Social media, audience building and conversions** are next. I want things like Facebook pages and building an audience through Messenger with ManyChat.

## What a Playbook does

A Playbook combines different workers to run a start-to-finish strategy. One worker hands its work to the next.

Here’s the directory site playbook. It has eight steps, and it runs through things like:

- **Build the directory.**

- **Publish it.**

- **Get backlinks.** That’s SEO, which is basically a traffic strategy.

- **Capture leads** from the traffic you’re generating.

- **Schedule social posts,** all the way down the list.

And a SaaS launch playbook starts somewhere else: a landing page or a wait list, then comparison and alternative pages, and on from there.

See how that works? The worker answers “build me a directory”. The Playbook answers the next question: *what’s the missing piece?* Usually it’s traffic.

## Pick one, or describe your goal

There are pre-made Playbooks for common marketing strategies, start to finish.

Or you can tell it what you’ve got and what you want to happen. Type it, or press the microphone and just say it. For example:

*“I’ve got an AI marketing automation product. I want to generate signups, but I want the audience filtered before they even come to my landing page, because I’m focused on conversions.”*

It suggests the Playbook for you, using the workers that exist.

If you’re new to marketing, start from your goal. Do you want a niche site? An affiliate site? A directory? Once you know that, the assistant can guide you to the right Playbook.

## Where you still step in

Done for you still means you’re in charge:

- **Some steps need your details.** Before your landing page can be published, you fill in some information yourself.

- **Drafts get a human edit.** Content lands as drafts so you can add your own take before it goes live.

## Why more workers means more Playbooks

Every new worker adds more ways to combine them. That’s why I’ve been building so many: more workers give more choices and more variations of Playbooks.

And every worker has to be good, tested, and proven to produce high-quality output before it goes into a Playbook. A strategy is only as good as its weakest step.

**My Take:** I want to be able to build Playbooks that combine these AI agents into a whole strategy: keyword research, building a site or a directory, backlinking it, getting some press for it, all the way through to social posting. True end to end. Once you’ve built the directory, what’s the missing piece? Traffic. So it’s in my interest to put as much in there as possible, as long as it’s good, it’s been tested, and it’s proven to produce high-quality output. Instead of hiring an agency, which is really expensive, or learning a software, you tell it your goal and the workers do the steps.
